Fee Protection Scheme (FPS)


As part of the Fee Protection Scheme (FPS), TMIS offers insurance protection to students who study at our Institute.

Our insurance protects the insured student against loss of tuition fees paid in advanced by the insured student to TMIS and not refunded, if the student cannot start or complete his course as a result of TMIS becoming insolvent or being required by the Singapore authorities to stop operations.

As a student of TMIS, you can check and confirm that you are protected under the Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) by logging on to the Council for Private Education (CPE) website, 'Are my school fees protected?' under the Quick Links for students; or by assessing the link directly here

Medical insurance Scheme

Medical insurance is also bought for all our international students. This insurance will cover compensation to the insured person for bodily injuries caused solely and directly by violent accidental external and visible means which results in Death or Permanent Disablement, including Medical Expenses, subject to policy terms conditions provision and exclusions.

Standard PEI-Student Contract

All students are required to enter into a Standard PEI-Student Contract, which specifies important issues that both the school and students are to observe.

Payment

Tuition fees are payable by telegraphic transfer or cheque. If you are paying by telegraphic transfer, please contact TMIS for the necessary arrangements.

Withdrawal / Refund

All application fees paid to TMIS are non-refundable. Only the paid tuition fees are refundable on the following conditions:

Notes:
1. All refunds will be made in Singapore Dollars within seven (7) days after receiving the written notice.
2. TMIS will review requests for refund based on compassionate reason(s) if any on a case-by-case basis.
3. Students who wish to do a withdrawal or request for refund, please fill up the Student Transfer/ Withdrawal form available at the reception and hand the completed form back to the receptionist.

Transfer/Deferment

Transfer/Deferment policy is applicable for student who wishes to transfer from one course to another or defer intake within TMIS.

All requests for transfer/deferment must be submitted in writing and supported with a transfer/deferment application fee of S$200 (subject to prevailing GST).

The student will be charged for all modules consumed and TMIS will refund the unconsumed fee accordingly if any.

Student Redress, Feedback and All Grievances Process

In order to serve you better, we truly value your feedback. We will make every effort to address your feedback and revert to you as soon as possible.

Upon receipt of your feedback, we will take the following actions:

(i) Acknowledge feedback within 24 hours

(ii) Initiate our investigation and conduct interviews for verifications (if necessary) within 7 working days

(iii) Resolve complaints within a maximum of 21 working days upon receipt of the complaint

In the event that you are not satisfied with our response, you can make an appointment to meet our senior management.

For cases, whereby the resolution by the senior management is not acceptable to you, you may bring the issue up to the attention of the Council for Private Education (CPE) (website: www.cpe.gov.sg).

Student Retention/Expulsion

Student is subject to retention and/or expulsion for serious misconduct and/or any breach of the institute’s rules and regulations

Confidentiality

TMIS is committed to maintaining the confi dentiality of the applicant’s personal information and undertakes not to divulge any of the applicant’s personal information to any third party other than relevant Government Authorities without the prior written consent of the student.

Changes


TMIS reserves the right to cancel, postpone or amend any aspect of the course due to unforeseen circumstances.
Singaporean or PR Application

Application should be made on the prescribed form, together with a cheque payment of the course fee to TMIS at least 4 weeks prior to course commencement.

Reservations by telephone will only be confi rmed upon receipt of the Course Application Form and cheque payment.

Application Procedures for Company Sponsored Applicant’s employers who wish to apply SDF/SRP, have to register online at SDF EasyNet (http://www.sdf.gov.sg) and SKILLCONNECT (http://www.skillsconnect.gov.sg) respectively at least 1 working day before course commencement.

Certification

Certificates of Attendance will be awarded to students who fulfill 100% of class attendance. Where written assessments are required at the end of the course, successful candidates will be awarded the Certifi cate of Achievement.

For accredited courses such as WSQ Certificate and WSQ Diploma, certification will be issued by the respective organisations.

There is no replacement of certifi cates. Should a student lose it, he/she may request the school to issue a letter to certify the completion of the course attended with an administration charge of $30.00 (excluding GST). For WSQ courses, a student may request for an offi cial transcript at a charge of S$10.00 (excluding GST) to certify that he / she is competent for this unit. Only one replacement is allowed.

Payment

Fees can be paid in cash or by cheque. For company-sponsored applicants, only cheque payment issued by the company will be accepted. All cheques should be crossed and made payable to TMIS.

The fees stated are inclusive of 7% GST unless otherwise stated.
