TMIS will refund in full should we be unable to continue business due to insolvency and /or regulatory closure and/or termination of course before completion date, or non-conformance during service delivery.

::: Student Service

::: Fee Protection Scheme (FPS)  

As part of the Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) TMIS offers insurance protection to students who study in our Institute.

Our insurance protects the insured student against loss of tuition fees paid in advance by the insured student to TMIS and not refunded, if the student cannot start or complete his course as a result of TMIS becoming insolvent or being required by the Singapore authorities to stop operations.

All students are required to enter into a Student Standard Contract, which specifies important issues that both school and students are to observe.

As a student of TMIS, you can check and confirm that you are protected under the Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) by logging on to the Council for Private Education (CPE) website, 'Are my school fees protected?' under the Quick Links for students; or by assessing the link here.
 
::: Medical Insurance  

Medical insurance is also bought for all our students. This insurance will cover compensation to the insured person for bodily injuries caused solely and directly by violent accidental external and visible means which results in Death or Permanent Disablement, including Medical Expenses, subject to policy terms conditions provision and exclusions. 

::: Student Enrolment and Admission

TMIS screens all applicants to ensure admission criteria (qualifications and examination results) are met.

::: Student Advisory Services and Counselling

Upon application, students are advised of all the application procedures, terms & conditions and course information by our trained staff.

Students will be counselled should there be concerns arising before or during their course of study.

::: Our Trainers

We have a pool of about 70 full and part-time trainers, who're industry practitioners, experienced and qualified to deliver all TMIS' courses. The students-teacher ratio is on average 30:1 for academic courses and 20:1 for short and customer service programmes.

Students are welcome to see TMIS’ counseling advisers on various issues, such as:

  • Travel concerns
  • Living/community skills
  • Culture Shock
  • Accommodation

::: Students Redress, Feedback And Grievances Process

In order to serve you better, we truly value your feedback. We will make every effort to address your feedback and revert to you as soon as possible.

Upon receipt of your feedback, we will take the following actions:
  • Acknowledge feedback within 24 hours
  • Initiate our investigation and conduct interviews for verifications (if necessary) within 7 working days
  • Resolve complaints within a maximum of 21 working days upon receipt of complaint.
In the event that you are not satisfied with our response, you can make an appointment to meet our company senior management.

For cases, whereby the resolution by the senior management is not acceptable to you, you may bring the issue up to the attention of Council for Private Education (CPE) (website: www.cpe.gov.sg)

TMIS is committed to maintaining the confi dentiality of the applicant’s personal information and undertakes not to divulge any of the applicant’s personal information to any third party other than relevant Government Authorities without the prior written consent of the student.


::: Facilities and Services

::: TMIS Resource Centre cum Study Room and Internet Service

Students are encouraged to make good use of our resource centre cum study room during office hours (Mondays to Fridays, from 9.00am to 6.00pm). Books, slides, presentation projects (from previous batches) are available for viewing within TMIS premises.

Students can also have access to free Internet Service in the in student lounge.

TMIS provides rich opportunities for students and trainers to engage in learning experiences within a centralised hub with enhanced facilities. Boasting over 15,000 square feet of space with spacious classrooms, skills assessment rooms, wireless broadband, computing facilities, a student lounge, a comprehensive resource center as well as a trainer lounge, our campus is poised in the right direction towards accomplishing our mission to upgrade the professionalism, service and productivity of the travel and tourism industry.

TMIS set up a Career & Assessment Centre to provide career guidance and facilitate placement of trainees. We also conduct skills assessment to certify experienced workers from the Hotel and Food & Beverage sectors.
